Corporation purchases Era Outdoor

Berlin/Istanbul, 13 November 2007.Subject to the approval by the Turkish Antitrust Agency, Wall AG, an internationally operating specialist for street furniture and outdoor advertising, will take over 90% of the shares in the Turkish outdoor advertising company called Era Outdoor, taking effect on 1 January 2008, thus strengthening Wall’s strong position in the Turkish market.


“With the acquisition of Era Outdoor, we have Istanbul and 46 further Turkish cities in our portfolio. At the same time, this purchase provides us with a considerable competitive advantage in the quickly growing Turkish advertising market”, said Daniel Wall, Chairman of the Wall AG Board, after signing the contract.


Era Outdoor has been operating successfully in its Turkish home market for 30 years now and is one of the leading outdoor advertising companies. The enterprise, with offices in Istanbul and Bodrum, develops and produces its own advertising carriers at its own plant in Izmir. Era Outdoor maintains contracts with 46 cities, including Izmir, Marmaris, Bodrum, Canakkale, Manisa, Mugla and Aydin, thus covering nearly 100% of the Aegean region. More than 1,600 bus waiting shelters, some 1,500 city information devices, in excess of 1,200 billboards as well as many other advertising carriers are being managed by the company and marketed out to advertising customers.  Era Outdoor is also in charge of the regular cleaning and maintenance of the facilities.

This presence supplements our city contract with Istanbul excellently“, says Daniel Wall, Chairman of the Wall AG Board. “What we have in common with Era Outdoor is an enormous know-how, high-quality products and a high demand on quality. We believe that by acquiring the majority of the shares, we will increase the turnover of our Turkish subsidiary by 75%. All in all, we will be marketing more than 10,000 high-quality poster surfaces in Turkey as of 2008.“
